Context-specific BLAST

In this work, we develop a sequence search methodology that takes local sequence context into account. Our context-specific extension to BLAST(CS-BLAST) has two-fold increased sensitivity at the same error rate and speed. Two search iterations of our context-specific PSI-BLAST (CSI-BLAST) find more homologs than five iterations of normal PSI-BLAST. Binaries are available from
