Other information:
This complex tethers the telomeric ends of meiotic chromosomes to the inner nuclear membrane to facilitate the rapid chromosomal movement in meiotic prophase I that facilitates the identification of homologous chromosome pairs through recombination. The importance of the structure lies in determining the architecture of the wider complex that is built around this 2:2 complex, and its orientation with respect to the nuclear membrane (inferred from transmembrane helices downstream in Majin). The structure was solved by SAD phasing of a selenomethionine derivative. We can also provide SAXS and MALS data from which we had predicted the overall shape of the complex. Please note that the structure included has not yet been fully refined although the build is complete.
