Other information:
Striga is a parasitic weed which affects host plants such as rice through sensitizing the presence of Stigolcatones (SLs) and recognize it through a set of 11 receptors such as ShHTL 1-11. Among ShHTL family members, ShHTL7 stands out as the receptor that binds in vitro to all SLs tested with high affinity. It is one of the receptors which recognizes the presence of host next to it and help in infesting them to get all of their nutrients. --- We have one ~60% identical protein structure bound to the triton hydrophobic tail group; this hydrophobic moiety is deeply and completely bound in the protein pocket which normally only binds to very different ligands. __Special attention: This binding also requires two helices to shift by ~2 A as compared to the closest homologue.
