Classification of CASP7 targets by prediction difficulty

The table provides classification of the target difficulty using sequence and structure similarity criteria. The targets are divided into two groups: template-based modeling (TBM) and free modeling (FM). High accuracy modeling targets (HA) are a subset of the TBM targets. Four targets were assessed in both TBM and FM categories (T0304, T0321_D2, T0348, T0382).

HA-TBM (High Accuracy - Template Based Modeling): Target domains for which suitable template structures (LGA score > 80) were available, and the best prediction had at least GDT_TS of 80.

TBM (Template Based Modeling): Target domains for which at least one structurally similar template was available, and a template had been used in at least one prediction.

TBM/FM (overlap between TBM & FM categories): Target domains for which a significant fraction of the secondary structure elements could not be modeled with correct topology based on a single template (by visual inspection).

FM (Free Modeling): Target domains for which no structurally similar templates were identified, or no template-based predictions were submitted.
